The braids section provides excellent diagrams as well as a verbal description of each. The patterns section gives a pricking a list of braids used and their order and a photo of the finished lace. There are also a couple of chapters on technique and one on designing one's own patterns.  Not for a total beginner but not far off.

Utilizes color possibilities inherent in braids themselves without adding or removing pairs. A section on specific techniques used is included.  Good pictures but has to be used in conjunction with the two Kincaid/Reed books since while the braids to be used are indicated -- all from those -- no diagrams for them are provided.
