One of the distinguishing
features of this lace are the flowers.
Notice that every other petal is different. Many Brugge flowers alternate between half stitch and cloth stitch. The threads are also not as fine as Duchesse or Brussels The heavier Duchesse is sometimes called Bruges Duchesse and they are easily confused. |
