Norway does not have a lacemaking industry of it's own but with the import of lace from England, Holland, France and Belgium, there grew a handicraft tradition that copied the imported laces of which gold and silver laces dominated.  One fun note is; when mistakes were made in the copying, those same errors continued for decades and became their own tradition.
