Rauma lace is
combination of Torchon and Cluny/Beds.
The lace was influenced
by laces from all over Europe during the time
lace making was a
profession in Rauma and ended up with what you see today.

This Finnish Lacemaker is working on the traditional Roller pillow. It contains a box in the back in which to store thread and bobbins. The traditional bobbins seen here are pointed at the top and bulbous at the bottom. They are thin the length of the middle. | ![]() |
