Tönder Lace
photos by Arne Jerx

Tonder lace is named after a city in Denmark where it has become best known
It is very similar to Bucks Point but has it's own more flowing designs.
The background mesh is made from twisted threads and a heavy gimp outlines the motifs.
This lace also incorporates decorative filling stitches including 'honeycomb'  and others.
A festival is held every 3 years, the last one being  2001.
