"Layers of picots like crusty snowy ice crystals give
Point de Neige it's name." Elizabeth Kurella in her book Guide
to Lace & Linens
This finely detailed needle lace is one of the most rare. It is identified
by the tiny rosettes and stylized scrollwork. This scrollwork is
often covered in curelicues and loops. A profusion of picots cover
the lace and often found in large clusters (which could be confused with
tatting.)
Made between 1650 -1700 and imitated in 1900
