Bucks Point Lace

Study fragment of late 19th, early 20th century Bucks Point bobbin lace. Style is named for the English Midlands region of Buckinghamshire. Mesh, known as a point ground, is formed of two twisted threads on each side; motifs are outlined with silk thread called a gimp. Lovely filling stitch in flower centers.
