Branscomb Point-Tape lace

Named for a village in England, Brandscomb Point Lace was made in the mid 19th century but by the latter part of the century through 1920's the fillings became more elaborate and became the lace as we know it today.
The destintive "pea like" edge is one detail that helps destingush it from other tape laces. Also commonly present are the dense needlelace stitches that fill the flowers and leaves.
The tapes themselves are lighter than Battenberg but rarely contain the scalloped edges of princess lace.

Battenberg type Collar with leaf shaped braid.
Made about 1900 by Miss Stawell, Ballarat, Victoria, Australia
