Appenzell
Whitework embroidered lace originates in Switzerland (18th-20th century)

Swiss worker making fine
Appenzell embroidery by hand
Extremely fine embroidery recognizable by the distinctive punchwork grid which gives it the "lace" appearance. While this is technically not lace it certainly gives the feeling.
