| The second picture in the Ms Christina serie:
The same X-mas I was given another set of mufflers by one of our smaller grandcildren. These were a bit different as they are "clip ons" over the ears without a grip over the head. As I did not want the risk of loosing one or the other, I decided to have a piece of velvet band to hold them together. I also made a vine in lace to make it more festive. On one ear is a pear and on the other is an apple. I used Bocken´s Linnen thread 90/2. |

This picture, no 3:When I had got the wig on the polystyrene head and the muffler in place, the face looked so naked, in my opinion. I felt like doing something to brighten it a bit. To give it a it more character. Looked at several old laceflounces and found a fernleaf. Fiddling with the pattern made from copying a picture. The original is rather curved, but by stretching it to fit the arch of the eyebrow I was on my way. I used cotton machine sewing thread from a textile-factory, I do not know the number, but it is a bit thicker than average. The eye-brows are fastened to the head, ( the polystyren that is) with Duchess lace pins. |
