The collar on the left gives you an idea how the collar on the right
might be worn. The Painting left was done in 1674. This bib fronted
(rabat) collar was popular about 1660- 1680 Unlike the collar above though,
it was tied in the back by a very narrow band which passes around the the
back of the neck and is tied in front.
