thread is DMC 80.  "This is my first effort at designing anything in lace. The bookmark represents where I live.  The red and white represent Canada's flag and the rose ground top and bottom are for Alberta's provincial flower

The pattern is a pricking that she adapted for the exchange.  Shelia changed the size and the finishing technique.

"The pattern is from La Encajera.
I used ecru linen 100/2. My reenacting friends tell me this is actually plain sewing thread. The gimp was made from 4 strands of the linen. I started with 34 pairs plus 5 pair gimp, but I needed to add, so it was probably more like 40 pairs."
