Here's my effort at an edging for Pauline's pincushion. It's just a simple half stitch, pin half stitch ground, spiders and heart-shaped whole stitch fans with cloth stitch and twist edge. I used DMC Special Dentelle.

After Pauline’s generosity in making and sending so many hearts to members of Arachned, I felt that I must do as she had asked and make an edge for it. I could not find quite the pattern I wanted so decided to adapt the design Janet by Geraldine Stott (with Geraldine’s permission). I thought it might be off use to others in the same predicament.

The lace are the mistletoe leaves from
the Bayeux lace book by Mrs. Nobécourt and Mrs. Potin. It is worked in black silk, my first lace from the book, and also the first time I worked in silk
and in black.

I adapted a pattern I had,
inserting spiders into the ground
and used DMC 90 tatting thread.
