Tamara P Duvall -Lexington, VA  USA
Formerly of Warsaw, Poland

"the pattern is by Doris Southard (reproduction from a piece of Finnish lace), published in the IOLI Bulletin. I reduced it and made it in black silk, with thicker red cotton as workers for the hearts and as passives in the scallops."
Sonja Sillay in Bristol  UK

"I used the IOLI pattern for the month you could find during May 2002 on IOLI's webpage.
The black thread is an old one I got after my granny the label says Cordonnet 6 fils brillantè a la croix no 100.
DMC Special dentelles 80 for the red and the gimp is Lincatex Gold Rush black/gold.
I put in one "spider" on my lace to go with the others on the heart."
She also has the matching bobbins displayed on the pincushion.

Diane Williams of Galena, Illinois, USA

The pattern is "The Bean" from Downton Lace by Bertha Kemp.  I worked it in Madiera Cotona 80 and a yard fit beautifully around the cushion with a little bit of gathering.

Ann-Marie Lördal, Sweden

Here is my pincushion. I used the May pattern from IOLIs homepage and used > DMC 80 in black and the red is Goldrush.
