Arachne
Arachne was a maiden who was changed into a spider by Athena because Arachne
challenged her to a weaving contest.  Athena must have lost the contest.  Thus,
Arachne can be a synonym of spider in my humble opinion.  And, we "weave" fibers
of infinite beauty just as spiders weave webs of infinite beauty....

Arachne Handbook Do's & Don'ts
The do's and don'ts (capital letters as in the handbook):

1. DO be courteous
2. DO post
3. DO send your bio to LaRae Mikulecky
4. DO sign your message with your name, where you are from, and your email address
5. DO be specific in your subject line (one subject per letter is best)
6. DO avoid leaving large chunks of a previous message in your replies
7. DO NOT send attachments
8. Vendors: DO be discreet
9. DO turn off "html" when sending to the list (originally aimed at Microsoft Explorer users). This is most noticeable, as it clogs up the lace digest.

11. Do not post copyright patterns
12. DO make sure the default "reply to" address is the one you want
13. DO avoid using special characters in your message
14. DO unsubscribe if you are changing email address or will be away from your computer for an extended period
